What age of person on the autism spectrum does this protocol apply to?
The Autism Crisis Turnaround protocol applies to children and adults of any age! Seriously – absolutely any age. The reason why Raun K. Kaufman and Kate C. Wilde say “your child or adult on the spectrum” throughout their videos (and the reason we say it throughout the website) is because the Turnaround Tools are designed to work with people of all ages – 5-year-olds, 15-year-olds, 35-year-olds, etc. All human beings on the autism spectrum share certain key attributes and challenges (which Kate and Raun explain in their free video: The Autism Crisis CRISIS), and, thus, share common causes of crises. Therefore, the solutions are also shared.
What payment methods do you accept?
You can pay through the website using any major credit or debit card.
In what language are the courses taught? (Can I bring an interpreter?)
The courses are taught in English. With that said, everyone from every nation is wholeheartedly welcome! Kate C. Wilde and Raun K. Kaufman have spent their lives teaching and leading seminars in scores of countries across the globe and enthusiastically embrace all cultures! If you do not speak English, you may certainly have an interpreter (can be a friend, family member, or professional interpreter) in the room with you during the live rescue course. (And, needless to say, this would be even easier for the instant mini-course.)
How do I know if these courses (and the protocol itself) are relevant to my loved one on the autism spectrum?
Good question. If you and your loved one on the spectrum are going through a crisis, and you want to bring it to an end as quickly as possible, then the Autism Crisis Turnaround protocol and courses are relevant to you both. If you’re wondering exactly what a crisis is or whether what’s going on with your loved on fits the bill, we strongly recommend watching Raun K. Kaufman and Kate C. Wilde’s free, highly informative video The Autism Crisis CRISIS: Why Your Child Is Not the Problem. It’s right on the homepage.
Does this protocol apply if my child is diagnosed with ADHD only?
The reason that the word “autism” is in the title is that Kate C. Wilde and Raun K. Kaufman designed everything to apply specifically for children and adults on the autism spectrum, which is the area in which they have decades of experience and expertise. So, although this protocol definitely applies to people who have autism and ADHD (or any other co-diagnosis), it is not designed to apply to those who have been diagnosed only with ADHD.
Do I attend with my child/adult on the autism spectrum?
No. The courses (and the free video) are just for you. They are designed for you to learn a protocol and set of tools that you can then use to truly change the dynamic with your loved one on the spectrum. You will be the one learning these things, and you will be the one who is then equipped to get you and your loved one out of the crisis. You will be pretty amazed at how much it will help your loved one to equip yourself in this way.
I am an educator, professional, social worker, police officer, or member of a school or group home staff. Can I attend these courses, and will they help me?
Do you interact with children or adults who have meltdowns, hit, scratch, bite, yell, scream, swear (or exhibit other seemingly hostile language), OR have a lot of anxiety, seem miserable or say they are, or who are going through a difficult time, event, or transition? The Crisis Turnaround Tools that you will learn in these courses can yield very powerful benefits for people in professional, educational, social welfare, and law enforcement environments, particularly since there are a number of easily overlooked factors in those environments which trigger or escalate Neuro-Crashes and the crises they create. If you work in a professional or educational setting, interact with children or adults on the autism spectrum, and encounter crises with those kids/adults, then all three steps (the free “Autism Crisis CRISIS” video, the Autism Crisis Lifeline instant mini-course, and the Autism Crisis Turnaround live rescue course) are for you.
How long will this take to “work”?
Okay, so let’s talk for a minute. If you are here, you’re probably in a bit of a desperate place, and there is nothing – absolutely nothing – wrong with that. Quite the contrary – that’s what we’re here for! You are in the right place, and what you are feeling is completely normal. And part of what you are experiencing is the totally understandably desire to “end this as quickly as possible.” And this is what we are here to help you do to! The entire protocol is built to be something that you can implement immediately and that brings the crisis to an end quickly. What is “quickly”? Anywhere from a few days to a few weeks (but not a few months – whew!). If you follow the protocol exactly, change can happen very, very swiftly. At the same time, we hope you can understand that every person on the autism spectrum is different. Our loved ones are not machines that we can just program to do X or Y (or to stop doing X or Y). In fact, that’s a cornerstone of this approach: Addressing what’s going on with your loved one on the inside, rather than trying to force change from the outside. Solving the cause instead of trying to stamp out the effect (which usually only inflames it). The precise amount of time that this takes is going to vary from case to case, but we are going to help you channel that desperation into constructive action rather than what usually happens… which is that the intense desire to “stop it” ends up devolving into a sense of pushiness or pressure that triggers your loved one and only serves to make the crisis worse.
How do I contact support directly?
If you need to contact us, go right ahead and email Autism Crisis Turnaround Support at [email protected].
I need one-on-one help! Do how can I get that from Raun K. Kaufman or Kate C. Wilde?
We understand! However, one-on-one help will only make sense once you have completed Steps 1 through 3. (And there is a good chance that you won’t need or want it once you’ve implemented what you’ve learned.) At the end of Step 3, Kate C. Wilde and Raun K. Kaufman will let you know what kind of help and resources are available for you, including one-on-one consultations.
