Use your loved one’s interests to inspire language-based communication.
Enable your child/adult to surmount any frustration they may be experiencing around the process of learning words and trying to communicate.
Find the exact right time to work on language or conversation – so that you aren’t inadvertently creating stress or conflict.
Address echolalia (while honoring it)
Give your loved one the space, ease, and motivation to produce language.
Utilize the P.O.W. technique to build up clear associations between items or actions that your child/adult seeks the specific words for them.
Remove hidden obstacles to speech.
